How do you work out???

Do you - or don't you???
I really want to be a worker outer.
Yes, that's a word.
I plan it and think about doing it all the time.

Do I do it?
NO.
Once in a while I get on a kick.
I'll do it for like 4 days.
hen I give up.

I just can NOT force myself to make the time!

I could get up early....
but I already get up about 6 to shower and be ready before Arabella gets up or Jimmy leaves.

I could do it during first nap.....
but that's the best time for me to read to the kids or go over school work.

I could do it during second nap....
but that is when I get the house straightened up and any prep work for dinner going.

I could do it t a random time when the baby is up.....
but I tried it and all she wants to do is hug me the entire time.

I could do it when the baby goes to bed....
have you seen me after 8?
It''s time to get any odds and ends finished so I an go to bed.
I do not have energy to work out that late.

I really don't like to get all sweaty during the day.
Things I like to do are:

Kettlebell - this is something that I can do during the day.  It is quick and simple - you don't get too sweaty.

Ballet Bar - This would be my workout of choice - but I don't have room to store it upstairs and the workout needs to be a good 45 minutes, so for now - this is out.

Yoga - I do love to try to fit in my yoga video when I can.  Yoga is probably my favorite workout for the stretching/lengthening of  my muscles.
Power Yoga Total Body with Rodney Yee [Deluxe DVD Edition]
10 minute trainer - I love these DVDs.  They are quick.  You can do one, two, three - whatever you have time for.  I get too sweaty to just randomly do these in the middle of the day.  They are good!
10-Minute Trainer DVD Workout
Treadmill - again takes at least 30 minutes and I get sweaty!!!
Proform 505 CST Treadmill
See all my excuses!?!?!?!?

Well, about 6 weeks ago, Jimmy dragged me kicking and screaming (ok that's a little dramatic, but I was almost crying) to a Boot Camp at a local church.  A friend runs it.  I imagined all these beautiful young people looking amazing while perfectly in sync with some routine.  I was so intimidated!!!

When I got there, I immediately felt comfortable.  There were about 10 people in all different fitness levels, all different ages.  It was fantastic.

We meet every week on Monday and Thursday nights.  It is about an hour long.  Our leader makes a bunch of circuit for us to do while watching our form so we don't have injury.  It is really fun!  You can get competitive with the other people or you can just compete with yourself.  I'm really liking it and looking forward to it helping me greatly after our next baby!

Happy weekend!!!

Funny, I'm so looking forward to this weekend, because there is nothing planned.
I can knit, and cook, and play with the kids.
Jimmy has to work all weekend. :(
Bummer.
He is NOT looking forward to this weekend.
Friday movie night.
Saturday wedding.
Sunday wedding.
He will be one tired math teacher on Monday morning.
We'll have to be extra nice to him.

Movie night last night was great.
Great turnout,
Great weather.
Here are some pics:

Both kiddos got up with me for Bountiful Baskets this morning.
That's always a welcome surprise!
Even though I know they only do it because I bribe whoever comes on the early ones with a starbucks.
Oh well, 7:45 is early and they both cheerfully came along.
Got stocked up on 2 amazing baskets, peaches, and a juicing pack!
We're set!

Jimmy and the baby got ready while we were gone.
We decided to enjoy the crisp fall morning with a run.
Woohoo!
Felt good to get out!
Lexi came along on her bike.
I love these fall days where the morning is crisp and cool,
but the days still get a warm 80.
Great for sleeping and playing!
Map My Run said we went 3.88 miles.
Not a bad run/walk for an old lady.

Cam home and made peanut butter/banana smoothies.
YUM!
I just took four or five bananas,
about 3/4 cup peanut butter,
a couple cups of water and ice
blended it.
Then stuffed as much spinach as I could fit in the blender.
Blended that, and spread between cups for all of us.
Great breakfast!

Hope you have  great Saturday!!!

Ugh.... the schedule

Everyone settling in to their fall schedules???
I am loving the temps this week!
Perfect weather to get out and do something!
NOW, I just have to actually get out and do it!
Maybe I'll take the baby for an afternoon walk.

Lots of things are beginning this week.
My schedule will be adjusting and changing.
I'm not really liking that.
I'm trying to talk myself out of each and every one of them - actually.

First, a new bible study tomorrow morning.
This means the kids doing their schoolwork without me in the morning and spending the afternoon in our together stuff.
Every week.
I know it will be worth it, though.
It also comes with homework, I hear.
When will I possibly have time to do it - I tell myself.
Uhhh....  aren't you supposed to be making time for God every day?
It comes with a bible class for Arabella.
I hear it is WONDERFUL.
Be without my baby?
She LOVES other kids.
She is fine with other adults when I'm not in her view.
She loves new toys and singing and dancing.
She'll be fine - will I?

Lexi will begin violin on Thursday afternoon.
I hope she loves it.
I hope she wants to practice and I don't have to nag her every day and make it a chore.
She has wanted it for so long!
But with it, comes more scheduling.
Every thursday.
Every day to practice.

I will need to begin preparing for a study I am co-leading.
It is about parenting.
I want to get to much from this study.
I want all the other mommies to get so much.
I don't want to mess it up.

There is so much I want to do and I can't possibly fathom how to fit it all in.
Mostly it's me.
I am a home body.
I like downtime.
I don't like to over schedule.

Say a little prayer for us.

Here are some pictures from the last day....

Lexi's new-found love of archery.  She is hoping to add it to her 4-H program.

My kettle bell workout yesterday.  I love kettle bells.  My favorite is the Kettlebells app in Ipad.

This is how I'm attempting to remove millions of fruit flies from my home.  My addiction to hoarding fruit is not conducive of removing fruit flies.  Any ideas?

Arabella really wanted to help Lexi with the dishes this morning.

Pears cooking down to can pear sauce.

Smoothie for the kids for lunch.  A bunch of over-ripe bananas, a tablespoon or two of cocoa powder, about a cup of plain yogurt, a pinch of stevia powder, 1/2 to 3/4 cup of peanut butter, and a glass full of ice and water.  Blend it all up - YUMMO.

Today in the Love Dare for Parents, the remind us to use manners.
Kids learn by example.
They want to be respected.
They respond to love and kindness and MANNERS.
Model that behavior for them!
I know some think that you shouldn't have to coddle your kids and should be able to order something done and it be done.
It doesn't hurt anyone to say please.  Say thank you.  Say I'm sorry.  Don't burp in public :)
Your home will be much more peaceful if you practice what you are requiring of them.
Now go say thank you for something!!!

Regular old Tuesday - LOVE

I love being home with my kiddos and homeschooling.
A fun day is just a normal old day.

We had a big BBQ yesterday and I wasn't overwhelmed with making sure it was all cleaned before bed.
I didn't have any urgency.
No one was coming over this morning!

I got up and cleaned up at a leisurely pace before the rest of my family was up.
The kids got up and did the dishes.
Arabella added a little surprise to my juice.

UGH.
Its sitting in a cup of rice.
Who knows if it will work!

We had a sweet little baby here yesterday and Arabella couldn't resist the baby bouncer!
She was so good at just entertaining him in it and not grabbing or poking.
She did, however, climb in this morning.
She probably sat in it for 20 minutes entertaining herself!

We did a small amount of school.
What we planned but didn't get done yesterday.
We did a unit on how still life painting came about
and then made our own.
The kids each contributed something and it ended up being a cantaloupe and and apple.

Arabella had some big brother time
listening to his music.
I love to see how gentle and wonderful he is with her.
They will have a bond forever.
I fear the boys she tries to bring around when she is older (like 30) ;)

Lexi got to spend some time with her new scrapbook kit she received
from some dear friends for her birthday.
She is so creative and definitely
much more like her father than me in he sentimental department.
She loves to keep everything.
Her organizing and decoration (from me :) ) comes out in her pages.

While the baby is napping, Lexi and I got in a workout.
We did the 10 minute trainer.
The same guy as P90X.
I got through 2 and a half of the 10 minute videos.
UGH! HARD STUFF!

You'd think 10 minutes wouldn't be so bad, but he really crams the activity in!
I was already pretty ;much immobile in the belly area from pilates the past few days!
I need to tone.
When I don't do it, I get back problems and I totally regret it.

If we're having another baby in the future, I gotta stay in decent shape.
What are your favorite workouts or ways to stay in shape?
How do you find time to fit in a workout?

On a random note, I found a home on the classified section for our area of facebook.
Think my husband will go for it????
A little paint - a little bright fabric - - - could be dreamy!!!
